US singer Anastacia’s new album “Our Songs,” was released last week. “Best Days,” the album’s first single, has already been featured on Radijohan. The album comprises English reinterpretations of twelve German hits, including a duet with Peter Maffay.
Peter Maffay’s career started with the release of his first single, “Du,” which topped the singles chart in West-Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. He holds the German record for the most number one placings in both the singles and albums charts. All of his albums reached the top 10 and twelve of them topped the albums chart in Germany. He also holds the German record for most albums that have sold more than a million.
“So bist Du” was originally a hit for Peter Maffay in 1979. The song charted in a number of European Countries and went to number one in Germany. When Anastacia, who considers Maffay an icon, contacted him to ask for permission to record his song in English, the two stars ended up agreeing to record it together as a duet.
