  1. Some kiwi music resonates with so many of us that they have somehow become embedded into our psyche and culture. These are the songs get regularly rolled out at sporting events or parties like:
    – Welcome home, Slice of Heaven (Dave Dobbyn)
    – Six months in a leaky boat, History never repeats (Split Enz); or even
    – Ten guitars (Englebert Humperdinck – I know, not a NZ artist but adopted by us as if it were. It wasn’t much of a hit elsewhere).

Last year Six60 played at Rotorua Stadium and I live close by so I could hear their music pretty well. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by what I heard. To my chagrin they hadn’t previously registered on my radar. Recently they released this song. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this song could or should join that highest rank of great kiwi songs that people will remember in 30 years time. I think it is catchy and captures a uniquely kiwi vibe that is sooo good.

Am I right? Or am I right? What else would you put on that top shelf of great Kiwi music?
